This is the fourth time the exhibiting artists show their work together. Usually the exhibitions showcase the artists’ latest works, but this time an idea took shape that each artist should create and show one piece that examines a given theme from each artist’s perspective. The theme this year is Japanese art or, more generally, Japanese culture, “Japanese” as a concept and an essence – in other words, anything Japanese. It’s very interesting to compare the artists’ associations for this idea. Although Japan is geographically and culturally foreign to us, how each artist uses his or her style and medium to incorporate and react to this respected country and its ideology offers a variety of possible exciting interpretations.

Ez a felvet�s a jap�n m�v�szet vagy �ltal�nosabban a jap�n kult�r�ra, a jap�n mint fogalom �s esszencia, s�t minden, ami jap�n. Izgalmas �sszehasonl�tani a m�v�szek erre a gondolatra sz�let� asszoci�ci�it, a lehets�ges �rtelmez�sek sokas�g�t, azt hogy a sz�munkra f�ldrajzilag �s kultur�lisan idegen, de egyben nagyon egzotikus �s nagyrabecs�lt orsz�g szellemis�ge kinek mit jelent, hogyan tudja azt egy munk�j�ba inkorpor�lni �s saj�t st�lus�val �s m�dium�val reag�lni r�.
